It’s Sunday morning and I’m online for the first time since Thursday. Internet was fixed/not fixed again. Comcast George has been in our basement so much this week that by Friday, I called out over the steps and asked him to throw the clothes from the washer to the dryer when the buzzer went off. I’m beginning to believe our house has bad technolo0gy Karma.

Technology issues aside, which have been driving me NUTS, life is good. Michael matures each year in his ability to re-integrate back into our lives after living the college life. I’m proud of his efforts so far this summer. Jessica joined the party Friday morning, coming to town for a college mate’s wedding. We enjoyed some great mother/daughter time yesterday, me putzing around behind her, chatting as she readied herself for the wedding. She asked me to put her hair in hot rollers for her, which I did and she told me fun NY stories and it was like old times. Heaven.

This afternoon and evening is the designated Family Day, the only time when the four of us will be here together. We’re still in the planning stages. Jess is on her way home from the North side and her post-wedding slumber party, BF is mowing, and Michael is trying to convince me that attending qualifications at the track is “something we’d all enjoy.” We’ll see.

The Universe is guiding me on an incredible adventure: my Plan B. I write here to share bits of my Odyssey, hopefully to inspire, encourage, or extend the virtual hand of friendship.

When I quit teaching in 2014, I could never have imagined the growth I would experience through travel, writing, reading, therapy, and introspection.

I believe human connection and compassion will go a long way toward our healing, and the best way to connect and feel compassion for one another is through the sharing of our stories.

Thank you for joining me here. I appreciate you and may we grow together.
