Yesterday was chocked full of blog fodder. So much to write about, so little space. I lunched with dear friends, Barbara Gray, Debbie C., and Anita at Piper’s, lucking out as it was asparagus day. It was great to see Anita again who splits her time between Indy, Florida (she’s the tanned one) and Colorado. She was here for only 3 days and chose to spend one with us.
My chicken, asparagus, black olive, tomato, stir fry sprinkled with feta cheese was delightful, topped only by time with friends. As Anita and I were leaving, we stepped out into the parking lot just in time to witness four cute “experienced” ladies embraced in a group hug, foreheads joined at the center (picture#2). It was precious. I marched up to them, “That was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen. May I take your picture?” They all giggled and agreed.
Their eyes sparkled as they announced proudly, “we have been been friends since the third
grade.” What a gift, having a group of women
with whom we share a lifetime of celebrations and tears. We talked shortly and were on our way, they with their friends, I with mine. We shared only a moment in a restaurant parking lot, but I’m pretty certain we share much more, the knowledge that the true treasure in a woman’s life is the treasure of dear friends.
Last night, I prepared the Self “Recipe of the Week” which I receive via email. This one has promise, but needs a little editing. I knew there was a bit of a problem when avocado did not appear in the list of ingredients for Avocado-Mango Chicken. I figured that one out for myself. I also cut way back on the two tablespoons of sea salt, but apparently not enough. The avocado mango salsa was so salty, we had to scrape it off and throw it away. Two Teaspoons maybe? It made a beautiful dish, in fact we took a picture, but I’m pushing my luck here managing to post two photos already. I’ll save that one for another day. I emailed Self last night, but no response yet.
After dinner, BF left for our class and I set out to spend my Bella Naturale gift certificate on a massage. I was incredibly sore from my Tuesday yoga class and knew that Angie would take good care of me. She has an extra sense about her that allows her to focus on her client’s needs which makes her an excellent massage therapist. I wore my pajamas so I could come right home and go to bed. Total relaxation.
