Cheap date
April 29, 2009

BF and I are firm believers in date night, which has temporarily been moved to Tuesday to accommodate our Wednesday Digital Photography class that he still attends. I’m a drop-out.

Last night’s date consisted of a simple picnic in the park. We did not allow a little rain and the fact that others had claimed the shelter house to scare us off. We spread a blanket on the floor of the gazebo in the park next to OLG and dined on turkey, tomato and avocado sandwiches, a fresh fruit and cheese platter, and a glass of Cabernet. Lovely. Following dinner, the chill in the air convinced us to move our party to The Bean Cup, a funky little coffee shop off of County Line Road for a cup of Chai tea. Love that place! There, we poured through our gardening catalogues and made our wish list for flower planting. We’re a bit behind schedule, but that’s just the way it is this year.

It was a simple night, focused upon time spent together rather than an event. Makes a girl happy.

  1. I actually was sound asleep at 3:52 A.M. In fact, I am profecting the art of sleeping until 7:00 A.M. This blog does weird things with the posting times. They are never accurate. Glad you’re liking Riley even though he awakens you!

  2. What are you doing up at 3:52am?! I hope you are getting rest:) I was up too…feeding Riley. He’s so sweet, even at 4am. He smiles at me in his sleep and I can no longer be upset about my sleep being interrupted.

    Hope all is well…

The Universe is guiding me on an incredible adventure: my Plan B. I write here to share bits of my Odyssey, hopefully to inspire, encourage, or extend the virtual hand of friendship.

When I quit teaching in 2014, I could never have imagined the growth I would experience through travel, writing, reading, therapy, and introspection.

I believe human connection and compassion will go a long way toward our healing, and the best way to connect and feel compassion for one another is through the sharing of our stories.

Thank you for joining me here. I appreciate you and may we grow together.
