We are in the business center buying Internet time at the historical Norfolk Hotel in Nairobi. We have been traveling for 26 1/2 hours and thanks to a sprint through the Atlanta terminal we made all connections without incident. Our Micato Safaris representative met us as we stepped off of the plane, well behind the lines where the other companies met their guests, swept us through customs, opened the luggage back room door and called for two Micato bags, and we were off to meet our driver who was waiting with cool bottled water.
Our hotel is Hemingway cool and is dotted with historical drawings and photos. We were met with a fruit basket, tea service and 2 dozen roses. I’m gonna like this!
We’re exhausted and off to bed. We have an 8:00 briefing with our guide, Elphas and we’ll meet our fellow travelers.
