Field Trip
June 13, 2011

This morning we depart for a 3-day field trip inland, by bus. All of the UIndy students, another group from Tennessee, and one professor are going. We will visit the Corinth Canal, Epidauvros–ancient theater, Mycynae, Ancient Olympia, Galaxi, and Delphi. I really don’t know much about any of the destinations, and haven’t taken the time to research, so it will all be a nice surprise.

My laptop will not fit in my backpack so this may be it until we return on Wednesday. It was difficult to pack, not really knowing the type of places we’d be visiting, but we were told to wear comfortable shoes and clothing for walking. I threw in a nice outfit and shoes for dinner, just in case, so the laptop stays.

I’m excited. Didn’t get much sleep as the garbage truck awakened me at 2:00 A.M., which is a nightly occurance and then some guy stepped off the elevator at 4:00, singing. He must have come home “happy.” Oh well, off we go! The adventure continues.

The Universe is guiding me on an incredible adventure: my Plan B. I write here to share bits of my Odyssey, hopefully to inspire, encourage, or extend the virtual hand of friendship.

When I quit teaching in 2014, I could never have imagined the growth I would experience through travel, writing, reading, therapy, and introspection.

I believe human connection and compassion will go a long way toward our healing, and the best way to connect and feel compassion for one another is through the sharing of our stories.

Thank you for joining me here. I appreciate you and may we grow together.
