Hello, new friends! My Nana’s off taking a nap because she’s sick as a dog! (A phrase I’ve never liked, by the way. I’m usually pretty spry!)

My Nana Won’t Be Writing This Week

Nana and Grandpa Rick (I’ve heard he answers to “BF” here) have finally caught Covid, which my mom tells me is NOT a kind of squirrel. Just like me, they’ve both had all their shots, but Nana’s had a “ruff” week. Since I’m too far away to bring her my frisbee, I’m so thankful for all the friends and neighbors who have offered to help.

She’s being a very good girl and resting and taking her medicine, even though her pills don’t come wrapped in a piece of cheese. I’m sure she’ll be back up and at ‘em next week, but in the meantime, feel free to drop some encouragement in the comments!

Take a walk for Nana and me this week, and if you see the mailman, tell him I’m always watching . . .

And now I love it when my Nana visits and we take walks together.

  6. Get better soon-both of you! Covid is certainly not fun but I was grateful for Paxlovid. Before it kicked in I felt like I had swallowed a box of razor blades and then decided to live underwater without gills!!

    • Take good care of yourselves . Sorry you are sick ?❤️

    • We took Paxlovid too. I’m not sure we noticed a huge difference. I have a new compassion and empathy for all those who have gone before me with this virus!

The Universe is guiding me on an incredible adventure: my Plan B. I write here to share bits of my Odyssey, hopefully to inspire, encourage, or extend the virtual hand of friendship.

When I quit teaching in 2014, I could never have imagined the growth I would experience through travel, writing, reading, therapy, and introspection.

I believe human connection and compassion will go a long way toward our healing, and the best way to connect and feel compassion for one another is through the sharing of our stories.

Thank you for joining me here. I appreciate you and may we grow together.
